Thickheaded - Stamina Knack

This knack was deemed unbalanced, and should not be used. It's very bad.

The reason this was broken is that it's abusable. It allows a character to focus only on Dex and Sta and still be very good at close combat, especially grappling. The XP savings gained by such a strategy would be far more beneficial than could be mitigated by the drawback of losing of "light unarmed" attack as an option.

Edited: After getting feedback on the Scion forums, I chose to clarify by adding the "doesn't apply to attack roll or contested grapple roll" clause.

Without it, one could have made a very efficient (and probably broken) wrestler who used Stamina for attack and defense. While I think that's no worse than the existing situation with Dexterity, other folks whose opinions I value think it's a bigger deal than I believe it to be. Rather than risk a broken knack, I added the clause.

Edited: I got rid of the knack completely.

The original text is preserved here to illustrate just how broken it is:

Thickheaded - Stamina Knack - No Prerequisites

While there's no guarantees that you are strong, quick, or smart, you're certainly big-boned and thick-headed. This knack lets you use Stamina and Epic Stamina in place of Strength and Epic Strength when you roll for damage via a Heavy Unarmed Attack or Crush roll. Note that this does not affect your attack rolls or contested rolls in a grapple, just your damage rolls. Such attacks are usually headbutts or full-body smothers, but feel free to improvise and stunt like a pro-wrestler.

As written, it was abusable. It allows a character to focus only on Dex and Sta and still be very good at close combat, especially grappling. The XP savings gained by such a strategy would be far more beneficial than the drawback of losing of "light unarmed" attack as an option.

While it may be possible to work out a non-broken version, such fixes would be inelegant. Conceptually, the knack wasn't cool enough (nor grokkable enough) to justify going to such methods to save it.

REPEAT: Do not use this Knack. It's busted.
