In my Scion campaign, the players picked a fight with the local (Seattle) Giants/Mafiosos. That has lead to a 30-story building being destroyed. The day after they ascended to Demigod status.
Shortly thereafter, I ran some "short" scenes to illustrate how much their mortal lives have been left in the dust. These turned into something larger than I'd planned.
Amy's PC, Federal Prosecutor Alyssa Cunningham, became Attorney General of the United States. All her new knacks and Epics let her impress the heck out of Senate and the President. Remember, the campaign is a couple months behind reality, so she beat out Mukasey for the job.
Kevin's PC, Omar Amin, is a bounty hunter / mercenary. He got a call from one of his old "business partners" asking him to do a job in a small war-torn African nation. I'd planned this to be a quick jaunt, two scenes just for him, in which his new Epic Strength would let him knock holes in walls and engage in an easy extraction that would have previously involved lots of stealth and planning.
Instead, Kevin brought the whole group with him for a "vacation". They used lots of secrecy and planning, snuck onto the military compound, extracted the warlord, and brainwashed him. Then they assaulted the compounds of his two strongest rivals, killing both of them and breaking up their armies. I staged big crazy fight scenes, shooting LAW rockets and HMGs at them, but it was practically no threat at all - I don't think the mortals managed even a single level of damage. The country was now in the hands of their puppet. However, "showing off" had resulted in such massive fatebindings, the country wouldn't let them leave. Even with 19 successes on Manipulation + Politics to clear up all the red tape, they still had to deal with engine troubles and a runway crash on the planes. A Wits + Occult roll later, and they understood the only way to slip the bonds of fate was to use Psychopomp 5 to find the nearest gateway to the underworld.
