Game Designers At Work

Wow.

If they really were game designers, wouldn't they be arguing about how many dice of damage a flaming lance carried in a fast moving shopping cart really caused? I mean, seriously, it wouldn't be hard to whip up a table based on the Strength of the driver, the mass of the rider, and special materials used ...

Oh, never mind. ;)

Yeah, but this is White Wolf. They don't argue about the rules. If they did, their books would have significantly fewer contradictions and oversights. :)

Cases in point:

How does Agg damage heal in LARP? (The answer is different in the two places it's explained in Laws of the Night)

How does your vampire's courage rating interact with someone else's lit cigarette?
(Again, two different sections indicate 2 different rules. At least this time, one would make the game unplayable, so we clearly use the other)

What's the penalty for not having any dots in an ability? (It's on three different pages in Scion: Hero, and two of them contradict the 3rd)

Why does a thrown car do more damage than a thrown mountain? (In the Scion intro adventure, the Oni does Str + 12 dice of lethal with the car. In Scion: God, the Gigas do Str + 10 dice of bashing with mountain)
