Divine Wardrobe - Manipulation Knack - No Prerequisites
Like a good boyscout, you are always prepared. It never takes you more than a minute to procure an acceptable outfit, whether that be from your closet, the trunk of your car, or straight off the rack at that clothing store across the street that the GM hadn't even mentioned yet.
This doesn't make you rich, and it doesn't let you find a functioning spacesuit in the middle of the Sahara, but it does let you acquire passable clothing without a die roll. As such, you'll never be at a social disadvantage due to your wardrobe for more than a minute. You can borrow a tux at the coat closet of the benefit dinner, or get a spiked leather jacket and sturdy boots before diving into the mosh pit. Even when needing to match a uniform to sneak into a facility, you'll turn up something that passes close enough to escape casual observation in the halls. If left naked on a deserted island, you'll fashion a grass-skirt before the rescue ship can land.
Response to this on the forums was vague and underwhelming. Those who cared to comment thought it was redundant or underpowered.
ReplyDeleteOthers felt it should be an Appearance knack as opposed to a Manipulation knack, since it affects what you look like instead of what other people do.
Myself, I call it Manipulation (or maybe Wits) because it allows you to bypass all the fiddly minutia of making rolls to locate, borrow, or purchase wardrobe items.
I also don't think it's appropriate to Appearance since the point is to fit in and go unnoticed, not to catch people's attention.
